I know it's been a while, I have limted time on my computer as I need to go to the club house to use to get the free wi-fi, I like it better when can use in my RV at my own pace, but don't want to have to pay the big price to do so, am checking into a few options, so will see!!
Before leaving AZ., when went to lunch at a place called The Landmark, we had been there once before for dinner with some friends and knew we wanted to go back before heading out. Glad we did, Jerry and I both have the salad bar, which is a salad room, anything you can image, plus soup and sweets, we had a ball and left with very full belly's. We also got a history lesson, the building was built in 1909 for a Mormon church, then was the Mesa commnity College, and now The Landmark Restaurant and listed on the National Historic Register, what a place, also lots of old photo's on the wall with plaques, one was of a man named Jack S. Welling who discover a town and named it Pumkinville, he was a wheeler dealer (promoter of gambling) town is now better know as Phoenix, also one photo of the Roosevelt dam being built, found out the brought stone masons over from Italy to build the dam.
Went to Lake Havasu to see the London bridge, spent a couple of days there, small town and not much else to bring you there but the bridge, but glad we went, on to CA. the drive was mostly crops on both side of the road, one side was grape vines and the other was almond trees, arrived in Morgan Hills, and will be here for a few weeks, before going on to Avery, we are seeing lots of good stuff, have been to a few towns to sight see like San Jose where the Winchester Mystery house is, we took the tour, stair steps leading to the ceiling and doors that open to walls, what a place, the grounds are beautiful. Yesterday went into Santa Cruz, nice drive, but bumper to bumper traffic for a long way, as it is a college town plus beach, thought I was in O. C. MD. as the beach and boardwalk looked just like O. C. stopped at a farmers market on the way that we happen upon, got some fresh veg's.
Been wanting to do a few wine tours, Jerry has been holding me back I think he must think I will load up and then he will not have room for his stuff in our little adobe! Did go ton a craft fair @ Casa De Fruta, so was able to do a little tasting there, it was held at the place they have the garlic festival every year in late July, in Gilroy, which is known as the garlic capital of the world. I am learning lots of different things, that I didn't know along with enjoying myself.
One small town we went to on last Friday was San Juan Baltista, what a lovely old town that is, took some photo's and will include a couple, one will be of a garden in a Mexican Rest., we walked thru just to get some photo's.
That's about all for now!
